Give Your Pet an Adequate Tortoise House

A tortoise house is very important if you are trying to keep a tortoise in your house as a pet. Tortoises are best suited to well designed outdoor locations in which they are safe with no fear of predators and situated within the proper climate. For example, if you desire to keep African tortoises you it would be best for you to live in a warm, dry climate, and be ready to share a lot of your personal space with the animal. If you live in a little accommodation or in a flat, you would be best advised to refrain from keeping this type of pet, as both you and the pet will be in mess.

For all restrained animals, it is best to make a habitation as close to the animal’s natural environment as possible. This is particularly true for tortoises which are not used to indoor housing. Tortoises are, on the whole, best kept in outdoor pens in climates alike their natural environment. If it is not possible for you to set up an outdoor pen permanently for your pet tortoise, then at least part of the year or one season in the outdoors is the next best option. Apart from certain situations, such as hatching, illness in the tortoise, or a tortoise not healthy enough to hibernate, keeping tortoises indoors is not recommended.

Laptop Repair – How You Can Determine If Your Mains Charger Is Faulty

The laptop charger connects between the mains electric socket and the laptop, converting high voltage AC to low voltage DC. If the charger fails then the laptop battery will eventually discharge when you turn on the laptop. If the charge indicator light on the laptop does not illuminate when you connect the charger to the electric socket and the laptop, then no power is getting to the laptop and the charger might be faulty. There are usually three parts to the charger, any of which can and occasionally do fail.

Firstly check or change the fuse found inside the mains plug; depending upon which country you live in you may or may not find a fuse in the mains plug. If the fuse has failed then replace it with one of the correct type and current rating. If a fuse blows more than once then this usually indicates a fault with the charger or power cable. Whilst checking the fuse make sure that the brass screws are tight where the cables connect to the plug contact pins.

Secondly check the power cable that connects from the mains plug to the charger is not damaged. You should carefully check each end of the cable where it connects to the mains plug and the socket that connects to the charger. If you carefully bend the cable you may see where it is becoming detached from the plug or socket. You must replace the complete cable plug assembly if it is badly twisted, bulging or shows minor damage.

The Blue Screen Of Death

It’s almost a necessity to have a computer these days. We use them for so many things – games, work, bills, emails, instant messaging, and video messaging – and we are used to having them around. We don’t expect our computers to give us problems. On the contrary, we expect them to run smoothly, without any problems.

Unfortunately, computer problems happen to everyone. There are many reasons that this happens. One reason is because we don’t take care of our computers. They require maintenance, just as a vehicle. Updates must be made to keep our software current. Virus protection is necessary, along with firewalls to prevent infection from other sources to enter our own systems.

At this time, we begin to panic, knowing that it could be serious. We find another computer that has Internet access and begin to search for error code messages. We try to find someone else who has had the same problem. We may even call customer support. They will ask if you’ve installed any new programs lately. They will suggest a system recovery. Sometimes, however, you can’t even do a system recovery once you are in this much trouble.

The blue screen of death is known officially as a stop error or a bug check. It is an error screen that is displayed by the Microsoft Windows family of operating systems. It indicates a critical error, unable to be recovered, which in turn causes the system to crash. The term “blue screen” simply comes from the fact that the screen turns blue when the error occurs.

33 Travel Safety Tips

Traveling to unfamiliar destinations can bring to you the sort of troubles you do not want to experience while on the road namely: robbery, rape, or murder. Tourists often fall prey to perpetrators because they do not prepare properly before embarking on a trip. Let’s examine some things you should do to prevent your travels from becoming a tragedy:

1. Never list your home address on the luggage tag. If on business, put the company’s address on the tag; if visiting friends you can list their address. Use covered luggage tags as well.

2. Stay with your luggage until the luggage is checked. If you must put your bag down, keep one foot on the handle.

3. Carry important papers with you; NEVER check anything that you simply cannot afford to lose. Photocopy your passport, driver’s license and credit cards.

4. Bring a small flashlight. You never know when you’ll suddenly be “in the dark” and find yourself in unfamiliar surroundings. At night, keep your flashlight by your bed.

5. Make sure that your prescription medicines are filled properly and labeled accurately. In some countries certain prescription medicines are forbidden.

6. Never wear anything that projects affluence. No gold chains, expensive watches and rings, luggage, or other paraphernalia should be in easy view. Better yet: leave your jewelry at home.

7. If possible travel with only one or two credit cards.

8. Women particularly should never accept a drink from a stranger. Keep an eye on your drink at all times.
