7 Daily Think Positive Health Tips

A few years ago, the UK Government ran a health campaign called Small Change, Big Difference based on Cambridge University research showing that small improvements in behaviour – such as eating an extra piece of fruit a day, or taking the stairs rather than the lift – can result in years of extra life expectancy.

This fits well with the ‘think positive’ approach in that small changes, made consistently and maintained over a period of time can lead to a fantastically improved quality of life.

1 Drink Something Different – Are you a caffeine addict? Whether it’s strong coffee or endless cups of tea, why not try replacing just one drink a day with a cup of green tea instead? Green tea is rich in polyphenols, especially epigallocatechin gallate which is a strong antioxidant. Proven benefits include inhibiting cancerous cells, lowering cholesterol and reducing blood clots. Other teas just don’t have the same effect because the way they are processed means that the antioxidants just aren’t there any more by the time it reaches your cup.

2 Wear ‘Sensible’ Shoes – Lots of shoes have no support under the arch of the foot and that can throw your whole posture out, leading to joint pain and potential long-term problems such as arthritis. This doesn’t mean you have to wear boring shoes! You can still be stylish and wear a pair that is good for you. Look for a shoe with some sort of raised support as part of the insole or buy some separate support insoles and put them inside your favourite footwear.

Finding A Good Automotive Repair Facility

Many people spend their time looking for a good repair shop, or perhaps taking the car back to the dealership which the vehicle was purchased from. Unaware that they could be saving money by taking their car to an independent repair shop. Sometimes finding a good repair shop can be a bit of a challenge. Knowing the signs to look for that make a good repair shop will definitely help. Or knowing the right questions to ask when you get there. Even going into a well run repair facility without knowing what to look for can result in a unpleasant experience. Poor service can result from not knowing the right things to be on the look out for, the right questions to ask, or the right info to give the service writer behind the counter.

Poor service can come from several different factors. I would not say that poor service is the customer’s fault, in fact it is quite the contrary. Most of the time when a customer receives poor service, it is because the shop is not managed well. There are things you as the consumer can learn to spot when a shop is not managed well. Many times a shop can appear well run and put together on the surface. If someone is not looking, they might miss some of the biggest signs. Knowing what to look for and what questions to ask will help the customer. It always helps to know what to be on the look out for and what information is the best to share with the service writer. You should also pay close attention to what questions the service writer is asking you. Informing yourself will help you. Educate yourself by asking people about their experiences. Where they had good service and what made it good. Online research can be very useful. Looking for articles written by someone in the repair industry would be a great help. They will know what kind of information will be needed and what will be useful. All of this will help you know what to be prepared with.

Angry Birds Star in Super Bowl

If you’ve never played Angry Birds, you should. An online game or more popularly an app for new handheld devices that is as entertaining as it is addictive. The history of Angry Birds is not important to most of us. How to get it and how to conquer it is. Wildly popular with somewhere around 50 million downloads the game stars of course birds angry that pigs stole their eggs. The pigs hide in different structures as the birds slingshot themselves at the pigs trying to destroy the structure and the pigs in it. Destroying the structures and pigs earns points and awards the next level of play.

I can’t remember how many levels there are but there’s a lot. So what happens if you actually ever conquer all levels? OK here it is, so this Sunday during the 4th quarter of the other game (football) the publisher will reveal in an Angry Birds ad an access code that allows the player to go further into the game by unlocking a bonus level. So while the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers go at it for the Super Bowl 2011 Vince Lombardi trophy millions of people will be anxiously waiting for…..the Angry Birds. Another stroke of genius for the NFL. Heck I’m anxious just to see the commercial. I don’t think I’ll ever get to the point that I’d need the code. I like the game (and Super Sunday). It’s fun when you’re bored, but I’m rarely bored. I try to avoid it.

2011 USC College Basketball Preview

Southern Cal had a mediocre year in 2010-11 having a 19-15 record plus a 4th place showing within the Pac-10 conference. In the conference tourney they advanced to the semifinals, then proceeded to lose in the play-in game of the tourney to VCU.

Southern Cal had results by becoming a fantastic defensive team. USC held their foes to under 41% from the floor shooting and also to less than 64 points per game.

The loss of Nikola Vucevic and Alex Stepheson is going to be tricky to substitute. Vucevic averaged more than 17 points per game and brought down 10.3 rebounds every game. Stepheson was the group’s second best rebounder at 7.2 each night and also contributed just under 10 points.

2011-12 Overview

Kevin O’Neill has been the USC head coach for two seasons and has offered the enthusiasts teams that play hard and improve as the season progresses. This year’s team has a lot of contributions to replace, but O’Neill does have Jio Fontan, Maurice Jones, and Garrett Jackson coming back. Together with a solid recruiting class the Trojans brought in transfers Aaron Fuller and Dewayne Dedmon.

Backcourt

Southern Cal will be heavily depending on their backcourt duo of Fontan and Jones. Fontan sat out the fall semester last season, but came in to lead the group in assists and finished 2nd in scoring at 10.5 points every contest.

Travel Light With One Bag Only

Business travel packing list is in many ways different from vacation travel packing checklist. Firstly, business trips tend to be shorter than most vacation trips. Secondly, most business travelers prefer to travel light with only one bag. This makes most business travelers experts in packing light.

Most business travelers prefer to use carryon luggage only whenever they can. Not having to check their luggage in, nor wait for it at their destination, saves them valuable time.

It also reduces the risk of losing their luggage en-route. It is very inconvenient to arrive at business destination without the appropriate business attire. Those business travelers that do check-in their luggage usually have some spare items in their carryon luggage, e.g. clean shirt, underwear, socks, etc.

Some business travelers prefer garment carrier bags when travelling with suits, and most have mobile office carrier bag as well as their carryon luggage piece.

Some Important Travel Packing Tips

The best packing method for your carryon luggage is the bundle wrapping method. I recommend giving it a try, I’m sure you will be pleasantly surprised how much you will be able to fit into your carryon luggage on your next trip.

Packing strategically can save you valuable time and hassle when going through security.

  • Keep the toiletry bag at the top of your carryon luggage for easy access
  • All liquids must be in the right size of containers and should be in separate clear plastic bags
